Building a Future Rooted in Dignity, Equality and Opportunity
Makkal Vilipunarvu Kalvi Sangam (MVKS) is a voluntary, non-governmental organisation established in 1996 in Tamil Nadu, India. For over 28 years, MVKS has dedicated itself to the social and economic empowerment of marginalised communities, with particular focus on women, children, Irular tribal communities, Dalit families, and persons with disabilities.
MVKS combines community mobilisation with practical, sustained interventions: foundational evening tuition for children, vocational training in Aari embroidery, wire-basket weaving and tailoring for women, digital literacy for youth, environmental protection, and active engagement with local governance institutions like the Gram Sabha.
Through the dedication of our field teams, volunteers, institutional partners, and generous well-wishers, we work across 40 villages in 4 districts to create genuine, measurable pathways to self-reliance and community leadership.
